Essential Duties:
| |
Review self-insured claim files and
make recommendations on case work-up. |
| |
Diary cases to ensure proper handling. |
| |
Review and analyze reserves and request
reserve reductions, where appropriate. |
| |
Attend designated hearings and report
findings. |
| |
Pursue second injury fund relief. |
| |
Liaise with clients while handling
Workers' Compensation claims from inception through settlement. |
| |
Set up IMEs. |
| |
Collaborate with Nurse Case Managers
to expedite case handling. |
Other Skills and Abilities:
| |
In-depth knowledge of Workers' Compensation
law and regulations. |
| |
Excellent verbal and written communications
skills, with ability to make effective presentations on complex
topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. |
| |
Facility with mathematical concepts
such as probability and/or statistical data; capacity to apply
mathematical concepts to practical situations. |
| |
Capacity to define problems, interpret
a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form, collect data, establish facts and draw accurate
conclusions. |
| |
Excellent interpersonal and organizational
skills, with knowledge of computer and typing required. |
Job Qualifications:
| |
3+ years' experience handling Workers'
Compensation cases from inception to settlement. |
| |
BS/BA degree and 3+ years related
experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education
and experience. |
